I've had my 2024 Kona SEL just over a month, and I'm already noticing smudge marks on the black trim molding, I am wondering what's causing them and how I can clean them off properly

Start by cleaning it with soap and water. If you still see smudges where the protective film was, that's probably leftover adhesive. You can try using a grease and wax remover or Goo Gone, but make sure to test it on a small area first to avoid any damage. If it's not adhesive, those marks might have come from shipping. A trim restorer could help, but since the new Kona's trim is differen, just be careful as it might cause stains.

This covers the basics well. If a trim restorer is needed, make sure it's safe for the newer Kona's finish. You can try 303 Speed Detailer. Some dealerships recommend it for this issue.

I didn't think about leftover adhesive, makes sense now. I'll be extra cautious with the trim

Yeah I'll look into 303 Speed Detailer, it sounds like a safe bet. I didn't realize dealers recommended it for this

That's no problem at all. That little tidbit about the dealer recommendation comes from being around the block a few times. I hope it gets that trim looking brand new for you.
